About Edward
My mechanical design career began in 1991. My wife and I founded Mechvision as a part-time consultancy in 2001 and we transitioned to a full-time organization in 2019. I am an experienced creative problem solver who does not require direction to solve complex multi-discipline system and part level design problems. I enjoy applying knowledge across industries to identify and solve challenging design problems. My diverse design career gives me a unique toolbox to work with. My innovative mechanical designs have been successfully deployed in military, medical, and commercial solutions all over the world. I have designed extrusions, sheet metal parts, injection molded plastic parts, die cast parts, machined parts, machines that build parts, machines that build assemblies, machines that test, military electronics enclosures, assembly line machines, packaging systems, and membrane switch labeling. I have created the conceptual renderings that helped earn contracts. I have worked extensively with principles responsible for machining, electrical engineering, software, sensing, and database development on these systems. I know how to balance cost and performance.
Hobbies
From 1992 to 2008, my hobby was building and racing sportscars at tracks all over the eastern US. From 2008 to 2015 my hobby was sport touring motorcycles. I’m also a boat and airplane enthusiast. My wife and I now occupy our spare time watching our kids at their high school and college activities.
